Hi,

I am trying to set up a new administrator on the definity switch. I have tried to assign them with a new login and password by using the command:

add login xxxx (where X is the login name). However, when I put in the command I get "login is an invalid entry".

I dont know if I have the correct permissions to do this as I noticed it mentioned something about a superuser?

I currently log in through ASA.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

I haven't set one of these up in a while, so I set one up to see what troubles that you may be having. It seems that your login must have super user permissions to add one. I also tried to add this new login as a non super user and it would only allow me to logoff. Hope this helps.

HI there,

Thank you for doing that. I just have one last question how do you get superuser permissions?

Thanks again,
Donna Brogan

Contact a super-user for your switch :)

Do you have the cust login? If not you may need to contact Avaya to have that re-set...which unfortunately Avaya normally charges $$ for....

Hi,

Yeah I have the cust login and there are 3 of all who operate the system but all seem to have the same problem as we have never needed to set up additional agents before.

I take it that I need to change the settings on the switch in some way.

Thanks,
Donna

hi again,

I have tried to login as cust on the switch but I Still get "login is an invalid entry" when I type in the command.???

can you type list login and check out your service level. I ahve the cust login that is set to craft permissions and cannot add logins.
However login as a super user and this is fine.

cust" as a login is being removed to cut down on known logins being used to hack into pbx es.
Login using your usual login, then do list logins to see if u have a login that is a superuser

Many thanks - will give this a try and let you know how I get on.
