Hello everyone.

First of all, please forgive me. I should NOT even be in this forum - I know nothing about Exchange Server 2003.

But I have a problem - and if any of you kind people can point me in the right direction I will be so very grateful.

At our company we have three different products. Our exchange server is set up with everyone's email account like this me@mycompany.com.

Our marketing department has set up two new websites, called and
Now, they want us (technical support) to use a different outgoing email depending on which client we are emailing.

For instance, if we are emailing our normal clients we can use our existing email, me@mycompany.com. But if we are emailing one of the clients for one of the new products, they want us to switch profiles somehow, and send out email from me@ourproduct1.com or me@ourproduct2.com

My problem? Our IT/Network support guy (who is sadly rather inexperienced and worse, lacking in initiative) seems to think this can't be done.

If anyone can give me an answer to say 1)Your network guy is right, it's impossible, give up... or 2)It's completely feasible and here is a link to give you guy so he knows he can't fob you off any more. .... I would be SO grateful.

I apologise again for coming and posting in a forum about a product I'm not at all familiar with, and thank you all very much in advance for any help (or just patience and lack of flaming!!)

cyberhugs,

Cassie

Real quick, I can think of a few ways. You can set up your exchange to receive emails from multiple domains ie (the user called me can receive emails from me@mycompany.com and me@ourproduct1.com and me@ourproduct2.com) BUT by default, Outlook will always use a default outgoing email domain. Now there are a few ways that I know of that can allow you to change that.

1. You can set up different users in Active Directory so that me@mycompany.com is received by the user called (for example) user1, then me@ourproduct2.com is received by the user called called user2... Then you can create multiple profile logins on the same machine that receives all the emails. That way, the emails don't get mixed up in the same mailbox.

2. You can also use one single profile and have all the emails dumped into the same account but then you need to allow SEND AS function. In this case, you will have to remember to to click on FROM field and select the proper email domain.

I'm sure there are other ways but my brain is not working well today. Either way, it takes some tweaking both in Active Directory and Exchange because it's not straight-forward.

Thank you so much! I think the "allow SEND AS function" is going to be perfect for us. I will have to do some searching on it...!
