I have been tasked with setting up a lobby phone on my Mitel 3300 system, and a few of the requirements go outside of my area of expertise.

We want to have a phone in the lobby, so that after hours, a visitor/delevery person can pick up the phone, and have it automatically connect to an auto-attendent, where they can choose the department they need to get in touch with.

It has been requested that the guest not have to dial anything to get to the auto-attendant - They just pick up the phone, and are immediately at the menu. I don't actually know if this is possible to do on the 3300, so hopefully somebofy here might be able to assist me.

Thanks,

Jason

Set it up as an analog phone

In the associated DN form, designate the voicemail as the termination point.

Done.

I have never set up an analog phone on my system, so I'm not sure how to go about doing so.

In my Web UI, I have gone to Users and Devices -> Advanced Configuration -> Analog Telephones -> Analog Sets

but I don't know what to do from that point. I am presented with a list of analog sets (some of which are already taken up, as I inherited this setup). If I choose one of them the items I am asked for are:

Number
Local-only DN (checkbox)
Circ. Desc. Index
Interconnect Number
Non-Busy Ext. (yes/no)
Tenant Number
User PIN
Confirm User PIN

Nothing about a termination point.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've used IP/digital endpoints for lobby phones. Just use the Associated Directory Numbers form like kwbMitel suggested to point the DN of the lobby phone to your VM HG. This will be a 24/7 "hotline" though, I've never had an after hours only request.

Except for number, program like any other active station, number would be new station number and does not matter

Make note of the Cct number as this tells you where to wire it out

The associated DN form is a different form

The, I've never programmed an analog station before, concerns me. You might want to consider hiring someone

Why dont you set up an IP phone as a hotline to the Auto Attendant Pilot.

Program the phone as you would any other phone but restrict its COR so it cant dial out. The destination for the hotline is set in User and Device Attributes for User.

Expensive?

Benny89,

The Hotline option looks like it will do exactly what I need.

Thanks everyone for the input. I am not, by any means, a Mitel expert, or even a phone system expert, so I am just learning as I go. Most of my essentials I am good with, it's just some of the more obscure things that I have never worked with that cause problems for me.

Thanks.
