hi all.

we have a site using ip500 (4.0.14) , we remotemanager in via the isdn lines for sys admin , we have now put a voicemail pro server in, and now need VNC/RDP connection to this, it is the only device on the WAN port,

any ideas how to make a "passthrough" to this machine via the remotemanager Idsn link?

Two options:
1 - enable "DHCP Dialin" on the IP Office for the LAN were the VM Pro is connected.

2 - Add a route on the VM Pro PC:

Open a DOS box and type:
Route Add -p 192.168.99.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.42.1

-p = make this rout permanent ( survive a PC reboot )
192.168.99.0 = default IP Address of Remote Manager PC
192.168.42.1 = default IP Address of IP Office

we have set the vmpro server with a static ip, can this be done via the switch only, as software etc allready to go on the pc, just need to kick in the link

Normally the VM Pro PC has a static IP Address and a gateway set to the local gateway router.
Adding a permanent route to the IP Office for a ip range enables you to access the VM Pro machine.

If you enable the "DialIn DHCP" server on IP Office you can dialin and you will get a IP Address from the IP Office wich enables you to browse the local network attached to the IP Office. This is not my preferred way as all PCs can be accesses and therefore it creates a security risk.

sorry if i sound dumb

i have to set my local pc to a static ip, to get to the ipoffice gateway to make the remotemanager link.

remotemanager thru idsn, then if i turn on dhcp dialin on in the remote ip500, i should be able to ping/etc the vmserver addrsss, or other pc's?

so it's basically making a vpn connection via isdn?

On your PC create a dial-up connection and set a static ip address like 192.168.99.100.

Make a dialup connection to the IP Office and set the LAN port were the VM Pro is attched to as DHCP Dialin, the other LAN must be set to static.

Reboot IP Office and change your dialin settings to DHCP client.

Make a connection to the IP Office and you will get a ip address of the LAN and you must be able to connect to the VM Pro.
