Could someone point me in the general direction on how to set up a IP set? I've been asked to support a system with newly installed MC32 cards and my Nortel knowledge is from the pre-IP era. I looked in the FAQ section and did not see a guide, so a link to a knowledgeable document, online FAQ, or how-to would be much appreciated.

Understanding of IP is not a problem- I've been working on Cisco equipment- just not the IP configs for Nortels.

Thanks!

All documention is available from
For basic instructions, you will need:
- IP Line Fundamentals
- IP Phones Fundamentals

Two additional handy NTPs are:
- Converging the Data Network with VoIP Fundamentals
- Enterprise Voice Audio Quality Troubleshooting
- Communication Server 1000 Release 5.x Troubleshooting Guide for Distributors

Thanks, that points me in the right direction. I could not find a 4.5 guide but found someone that had one laying around.

I'm a bit perplexed on the installation though because according to this doc you have to have a leader card? All the cards in the system (minus the one I'm trying to install) are indicating they are followers (F000 on the card and Follower in element manager).

Is there a way to hardcode the ELAN and TLAN IPs to get it recognized in element manager? I also noticed that when we stat the TN, it shows up UNEQ..

Makes me wish I had stayed with the Nortel side a little longer before going in to the Cisco realm.

Thanks
