I have setup broadcast with 3 members (ring only) and assigned one of the three members as the overflow with a que time out of 15 seconds.
Call comes in but ring no answer intead of going to the overflow DN's voice mail so I assigned appear & ring to the overflow set and still the same problem.

So questions is how do I setup 3 phones and caller MUST go to one of their voice mail boxes after so many rings.

Curlycord,
The way you did it ,that the way I do all the time and it works fine.I create a group with a no of ext(members) and then I do overflow to one memeber of the group and it will follow the call forwading the VM to that mailbox. When it overflow it comes to the intercom button of that ext not the hunt group button. What s/w are you working with I'm just wondering, try to change the overflow time maybe it will help. Good Luck!

I have to agree with sam, I've done this too and had no problems. You may want to play with the queue timeout a little and see if it makes a difference.

That should work. What I like to do when I want to use hunt groups for what they are and not a way around the lovely answer dns is: program a mailbox in VM with the hunt group dn as the ext. #, then for that hunt group, make the overflow the VM hunt dn. This way you can record a separate greeting for the group in question. The only kicker is that you will not get "messege for you" on any phones. Kevin Clear

"If the overflow set is a hunt group set, the call is treated as a new call and goes to the bottom of the que."

Therefore it continues to ring on the assigned hunt group button (even if it comes in on a IC, it is still a hunt group call). AND

"Call forwards set on telephones that are members of a hunt
group are overridden by the hunt group routing."

Therefore you get RNA. The call just keeps going in a vicious cycle.

The best advice is to assign the overflow as the voicemail port, build a mailbox to match the hunt group DN as Kevin suggested then have the mailbox remote message notify one of the member DNs. When a message is left in the mailbox, the voicemail will physically call the DN and when the person picks up... Silicone Sally says, "You have a voice message, please enter your security code."
If no one answers, it will continue to try the DN until the maximum number of attempts assigned in the COS. MRoberts

I was rather frustrated because I did this at another site with 5.1 MICS (used ccr tree path 1 and point it to hunt group DN) and it worked but now I am using 6.0 and it does not work and set it up exactly the same.
I shall use the VM off prem trick and just tell the customer thats the way it is.

Now today again frustrations with a different site on a CICS 4.0 but no CCR tree, I assign hunt group O1 with several members with H01 appear and ring and assign lines as YES and set Broacast and not one member would ring so I assigned them as ring only and still no ringing...$^@%*(@&

Feeling that I am the hunted one! lol

Thanks peeps : )

Are the lines themselves assigned to the members of the hunt group. If the lines are assigned to the phone then the call will remain on the lines and not go into hunt programming. MRoberts
