I'm trying to setup Florida tax in Micros 3700 v5 so I can use surcharge for some new sweet drinks regulations. I select Enable Florida tax surcharge and entered amount of surcharge for the menu item. But for some reason it doesn't work. What am I missing? There is another setting in the RVC Transaction but it's for adding it to tax triggers. No matter what I do, it doesn't work. Thoughts?

Okay, I just did this today, here is what you need...

POS CONFIG>System Tab>Restaurant>Taxes>Check Box that says Enable Florida Tax Surcharge

POS CONFIG>Tax Rates>Enter your new tax, IT MUST BE ON LINE 4, TYPE MUST BE PERCANTAGE, PERCANTAGE MUST BE ZERO

POS CONFIG>Tax Classes>Line 203 and 204 are most likely restaurant tax and bar tax, add the new tax to these classes

POS CONFIG>Tax Classes>Create New Tax Class, make sure to check the appropriate taxes you want as a part of this class

Assign this new tax class to the appropriate menu item class

GO to a menu item that will have the surcharge, add the price of the surcharge under price tab

Adjust menu item to the correct menu item class that has new tax class

Should be good from here

Thanks a lot, that worked. I guess I missed that line #4!

Yes, we have EM managed side with Tax Jurisdictions in place so this one was also adjusted. I appreciate your help!
