I need to set up a CCR so that the incoming caller, after choosing a certain option, gets an informational greeting and then is allowed to leave a message. The mailbox would not have any physical phone associated, but I would like to to notify one of the actual phones when a message has been left.

Which of the Starplus systems are you using, and also the voicemail platform? Most vodavi voicemails do not have "information only" capability, but there are some options.

I have the STSe with the flash based VM.

Try this first, access a mailbox (xxx) that is out of the range of stations that are actually installed. In that mailbox go to option 3, (personal options) select 4 for direct transfer, turn on direct transfer. Then on an installed station, program a flex button as 460xxx. In a CCR point an option to mailbox xxx. Record the appropriate greeting in mailbox xxx. You should see the 460xxx flex button lit red when there is a message. Depending upon the actual configuration of your system you may have to create mailbox xxx.
