Hi,

I’m looking for a bit of help setting up an announcement service. (I think that’s what I need)

Our IS department wants to be able to forward their phone to an announcement that will advise callers of network problems during outages, but let them dial “0” to get through if they are calling for some other reason.

I do the MAC’s for our company, but don’t have a whole lot of experience in the MerMail side of things.

Any pointers?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

Yes this can be done, not sure about the "0" but i know you can do it 1-9.

When at the main menu in MM, enter 3 for Voice Admin, enter 4 for Voice Services Admin and 6 for Voice Menu Definitions (VMD).

Make a new VMD,

Use option 1 "CL" Calling Number. This number could be a hunt group within IS or Create a CDN + a script, with queue to skillset, hold music etc.

I hope this helps, if you need more info post back and i will reply

You would be better using Announcements (from the 1st screen, options 3 then 4 then 3 = Announcements)
The "Revert DN" is the 0 option for callers

You also need to enter the IS dept number/numbers that you want to get this treatment in the "Voice Services DN Table", (from the 1st screen, options 3 then 4 then 1 = Voice Services DN Table)
