setting up a VLAN with Catalyst 1900/24 8 ports already allocated the IDF contains a 4 D-link 12 port hub.
one lan has ip A class 10.0.0.0 LAN uses a 32nd subnet Vlan will be part of this subnet.

5 pcs and a laser printer to be on VLAN

My question is : Is this set up feasible if not what would be a better router/switch to use .

thanks in advance I am a real novice at this .. so any advice is appreciated

i'm sorry, but i can't really understand the setup. can you rephrase it in more accurate way? if i'm not mistaken, if you plug a hub to the switch port, all the pc that connects through the hub is in the same vlan defined for that particular port on the switch. what type of vlan you are trying to setup? port based? or mac based?

setting up a port based VLAN

its a theoreitical question really i can't really explain it any better

Lan used for a special project
switch is currently configured as one VLAN it is to be reconfiggured for another VLAN with ports

catalyst 1900/24

i need a secure VLAN and really my question is this the best way to go using what i have

i'm sorry, but what is a vlan? i have a catalyst 2940, but have not looked at the vlan setup.

It is feasible on a 1900 switch. Check cisco site for info. to conf the VLAN.
