I have a definity G3si V12

We had this TN750c laying around and I wanted to make use of it so i popped it into an open slot on our prologic. But I'm unsure how to set it up to get announcements recorded to it. I've found a couple of thing doing searches on this site. Setup the FAC code to access it and I've erased what was previously on it. But from there I'm stuck. Somehow I have to assign it an extension to it so that is where I'm stuck. If you guys can provide any help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

You add a data module. The type is ann the port is XXXX17. You'll need to add a feature access code to record the annoucements. FAC then 1 to play, 2 to listen and 3 to delete the announncement. You get approximately 4 minutes of playing time.

Hope this helps

You also need to use a station that has 'Console Permissions' in their COC. Do 'change announcements', enter the extension number you want to use, a name, and the slot of the TN750C. Then you can do the above procedure to record announcements. Before you record new announcements, you may want to do 'erase announcements [slot]' to remove any old announcements on the board.

Wonderful that all worked like a charm. So this is the next step.

Okay - you guys have never failed me with all your infinite wisdom yet. My last piece of this puzzle is to have this newly recorded message on my TN750c play over our intercom. The intercom is currently accessed using a DAC allowing the receptionist speak into the handset and it is broadcasted to all the floors in our building.

Now what would it take to get an announcement to play from the board to through intercom. If we currently have a DAC that opens a channel to the intercom already. Any thoughts? This might be a hard one, let me know what you need as info to formulate ideas. I will post anything you need into this Thread. Thank-you guys again

The easiest way to play the announcement over the intercom is to either conference call or transfer .

E.g. Recepionist dials the intercom and then presses the conference button. Dials the annnouncement number and quickly presses the conference button again. If you have pre-recorded announcements to play over the intercom, then it's better to re-record them with a small silence at the beginning of the announcement. This gives the receptionist time to complete the conference call without missing the beginning of the announcement.

The same idea would probably work using the tranfer button.

Hope it helps

Great, that will work- any ideas how I could automate that so the Recepionist would only have one step to do, like dial an extension that would then kick off the rest of the actions.. can a DAC be accessed using an Auto attendant??

Well I guess that I have something setup wrong with this, I setup the recorded annoucement and tested it, it plays fine but when I open up the line to the intercom though the DAC code I am then unable to use the CONF or TRNSF button. Is there a setting in the COR or COS that prevents me from using those buttons when a DAC is in use? Please let me know your thoughts Thank-you again for all the help..
