Howdy!

I have a few Windows machines connected to my network (mostly WinXP, but a few NT and Win98 machines as well).

I am mow looking to put a printer onto this network. nothing too fancy: i just want to be able to print to it from any machine on the LAN.

It's a lovely little Cannon CLBP 360PS Color Printer, BUT...

There's only one problem: i cannot find the printer!!! ive given it an IP address and can even ping it successfully, but
how do i actually go about installing it? i've tried using all the "add printer" and "Network Neighbourhood" options in WinXP, but to no avail.

Any advice/suggestions. hell, i'll even try casting spells on this bad boy just to get it working

Thanx in advance!

Hi,

R u using a print server or an nic card in the printer?

Paul.

Try installing the printer as a local printer (do not autodetect) and after it is installed go to the printer properties and set the port to print to to the IP address you set. I have to do this on some(but not all) of the printers I set up.
