We installed Exchange on a member server but we are unable to get the existing users from Active Directory to access their mailboxes. If we make a new user everything works.

How can I get the existing users to access their mailboxes?

Thanks!

You will need to move the messages to the new mail server. Go to Active Directory of Users and Computer right click on a user, select Exchange task then follow the prompts to move the user to the new server, of course backup your data before moving mail boxes. The users being move need to be log off Outlook when you are moving their inboxes.

This is the first Exchange server we have. What is the magic to get the existing users in our domain to have mailboxes without re-adding them?

Thanks!

Just curious, how do you install exchange as a member server and is that the way to go?

Thank You
