Hi- Could someone tell me the programming steps tp set up a fx machine on a 616 with dr5 software?
I can do bsic programming but don't have any idea of the steps. I have 4 lines and my fax is on the 4th line. I would like to be able to use the for occasional outgoing calls when the others are taken. I am getting some mixed info about having it in a pool or not...someone mentioned putting a "pause" in so we won't have to dial 9 before our number....I can't find anywhere in the programming where to put a pause in.
If someone could post a step by step "tree" of the programming I would be most grateful!
Thanks!

You cannot hook up a fax to line 4 port, that is for the C.O..

You need an ATA if you want to hook up a fax.

If you need a step by step then suggest you have your vendor in to give you a crash course, better yet call them to complete this issue.
You can also read the manual for step by step.
If you know above then ignore.

Once you have learned programming and have an ATA hooked up simply got to Sets/Capabilities/Sets/2XX/Hotline/External and add a pause using F78.

If you put line 4 into a pool then that is the first line people will get when they pickup the phone for outbound.
If somebody is on line 4 then the fax will simply grab line 3, the problem is the inbound and why not a good idea to put it a pool or it will be busy all the time.

Don't have a vendor- that's why I am trying to program-
Have always had the fax on line 4- so I'm confused about not being able to hook up because "it is for the C.O."
I have the manual- installers guide and system coordinators guide and there are no instructions for programming for a fax....
We do have it on an ATA 2- it is working now but when power goes out we lose programming- have new software ordered so will need to be able to reprogram the fax machine (vendor I bought software from only seels it). I've had success in the past getting the other lines funtioning properly- but have had trouble with the fax.
Think I understand the part about not putting it in the pool, and only want the freedom to occasionally dial out on line 4.......
Like I said, I can do some of the programming but was hoping for a step by step- since this is beyond me. Have googled around quite a bit and only can find the same manuals tha I already have.
I appreciate your time and sorry again about posting the email address.
