What has to be set up to allow a telephone, specifically a 1408 digital, to set the system time? Also, is there a default password for the built-in modem?
Some IPO's aren't on a network, therefore need a way to manage time. As in literally not on a network, no connection to a PC with manager, or anything. No NTP, no RC868 requests from Manager.
So you give a user sytem phone rights (level 1) and they can change the date/time from the menu of a 14xx/16xx. Features/phone user/system admin/time or date... FWIW * = : when setting the time.
Thanks for the heads up. While I can't imagine not putting it on the network, it makes sense that there are some. Can you do the same with button programming? or do you still need manager?
When you set the Manager PC as time server then a reboot will let the IPO pull the time or if you leave it then once in the hour.
But with a phone can be easier for the users.
I believe this was a new option in 4.2 but i could be wrong one or two versions
Not on the network does happen. Some state/federal agencies have extremely strict security measures that require such technologies to be isolated to the fullest extent!
