Setting 'stty' values

Did a 'man' on 'stty' still have not been able to successfully change the value of 'kill' from the @ symbol to something like '^u'.

Could someone let me know how to change this value?

Thanks for the help.

well never mind, figured it out, command is

'stty kill ^u'

i kept trying 'stty kill=^u'
