About the situation:
I have few computers wich are connected to internet via dedicated publick internet line.
So there is a block of static IP's for me to use.

So the PC 1 has IP : 223.24.48.85
the PC 2 has IP : 223.24.48.85
and so on.

Now I want to install this Pix501 firewall on this location to secure this PC's.

But there is one important thing, those Pc's have to keep the existing IP settings, so they may not change to 192.168.1.1 or some like that. They have to stay as they are with IP's : 223.24.48.xx

And the firewall must be able to secure them.

Please can sombody help me setting this.
I alredy know how to set basic default configuration with 192.168.1.x local inside network. Need help with this. Yesterday tryd to do it but didnot work. I have web PDM acces, and serial port acces. directly connected to the pix.

thanks for any help.

I believe you can only do that with Pix OS7 or higher. The ASA5505 supports this.

That being said, there shouldn't be anything you can do with the transparent firewall that you cannot do with NAT and static rules.

So the model that I have is cannot do this?

cisco pix501?

can I upgrade it ?

You have to buy new hardware. The 501 and the 506e cannot be upgraded to v7.
