Setting pix 506 on dsl

Hello all,
How does one go about hooking a Pix 506 w/ a dsl line that uses a dynamic ip? Does the outside ethernet need to have the ip address listed as static?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the ISP using PPPoE? Or DHCP? You need to confiugre the PIX as a PPPoE/DHCP client. Use the link below as a guideline:

ISP is using DHCP. Thanks for the input.

So if your ISP is doing DHCP but not PPPoE the all you need to do is:

ip address outside dhcp setroute

that should make it get an IP and default gateway

HI.

It's OK for home use.

But if you are planning to use features like VPN or simply using ACL to permit some inbound traffic then you'll have problems.
