I have multiple G3si switches that I admin. I've noticed that between the switches, when a new extension is created one switch assigns 30 personal list abbreviated dials to all its stations, and another switch only assigns 5. Could someone tell me where this setting is that would let me change the default number of abbrev dials someone gets? I'm guessing it is a system parameter feature but can't see it. I've tried searching the forum here and other places but no luck.
Thanks.

Hi. I just took a few minutes and went through my system. I have 12+ years on this system and I couldn't find any global settings for the ab lists. THerefore, I'd have to assume that it was setup for your company in the software translations during the initial install of your system.

Hope this helps some. Why are you concerned with making this change? Are you having to program up everyone's personal ab lists? I have my users do that. I give them instructions and let me go for it.

It's minor, but the only reason I was tying to track it down is because I sent out instructions to all the users for how to program their own lists... I had thought all the switches had 5 slots setup for each extension, but then I got a call from a user at one building and looked at their list settings, they had 30 slots along with everyone else on that switch. The instructions I sent out were written thinking that there were only 5 slots by default, so I told wrote that they only had to dial a single digit to call back the number when they want to use it. For example "1" instead of "01". So the instructions aren't working. There's only about 40 people on this switch, so I went and changed each of the stations over to have 5, but any new stations I don't want to have to remember to modify that setting each time.

Do 'dup station' and not 'add station' this way eveyone will get the same number off abb dials.

I didn't realize that the # of slots was dup'ed along with the rest of the station's info. Just tried it and it worked. Yay!
Thanks for your help!
