I have been asked to determine the upper and lower control limits for monthly data in a simple spreadsheet. The data consists of just one percentage amount per month for two years. Is there an easy way to do this?

Can you clarify your question. I don't understand what you mean by upper and lower control limits on the monthly data.

Whats the data?

The functions of MIN and MAX should work, unless I there is more to the spreadsheet.

Let me better clarify...

Our main responsibility is to monitor scoring of contractual performance guarantees. Say, for instance, we are supposed to answer 95% of all calls made to our call center within 30 seconds. Based on our monthly scores for the last two years, we would like to set control limits that would "red flag" when we either fall below or exceed our average performance over the last two years.

Try Format/Conditional Formatting
You can set up to 3 criteria per area.

mkuethe: Conditional Formatting is your best bet, based on your post.
