The connection wizard software for Mandarke doesn't work properly when dealing with an ADSL connection that requires pppoe and DHCP. The solution is to use the rp-pppoe package from the command line ( this is not installed by default, so you may have to install it). As root type 'adsl-setup' ( w/o quotes) and follow the prompts. The application will offer to set up a firewall for you as well but you'll be better protected to install iptables and either Bastille or Shorline depending on your version of Mandrake.
