setInterval lag

Having a bit of a problem with setInterval lag withing FF. Just wondering if anyone had any work around for this...

Here's what I'm working on:

Basically I have the timer set to 1000th of a second. In IE this works fine and the scroll happens quite smoothly but in FF it's very blocky! (*You have to click on the forward and back buttons)

All suggestions welcome!

You cannot expect 100 screen updates per second, and even I.E. is giving you a lot less than that. I suggest a period of 100 ms.
