Description:
Headquarter 81C and 2 branch offices 11C. No connection between the offices besides PSTN.
DID number range
Branch a 201-575-0400~0499
Branch b 515-586-1500~1599, 515-878-1500~1699

Requirement:
Make a speed dial solution to allow users in the headquarter office to reach two branch offices and customers.

My solution:

1. set up AC2=1
2. set up
DMI 1
DEL 0
ISPN NO
INST 1201575
CTYP NCHG
DMI 2
DEL 1
ISPN NO
INST 1515586
CTYP NCHG
DMI 3
DEL 1
ISPN NO
INST 1515-878
CTYP NCHG
Set up RLI 1, 2, 3 to route to T1 outbound channel using DMI

3. LD90 ESN AC2
To branch a
SPN 04
FLEN 0
RLI 1
SDRR NONE
ITEI NONE
To branch b
SPN 4
FLEN 0
RLI 1
SDRR NONE
ITEI NONE
SPN 5
FLEN 0
RLI 2
SDRR NONE
ITEI NONE

For example:
User in headquarter previously dial 9-1-201-575-0400
Now he dials 1-0400

User in headquarter previously dial 9-1-515-586-1500
Now he dials 1-41500

User in headquarter previously dial 9-1-515-878-1500
Now he dials 1-51500

The inconvenience is user have to compare the number to decide which number he need to dial to reach branch b, 4 or 5.

I really appreciated if you have a better solution.
Thanks,

I setup SPN's using AC1.

SPN 5551
SPN 5552
SPN 5553

Each with DMI set to ctyp to National and inserts the actual number I want to dial. I then put an ADL key on a few phones and changed key labels to names.

Worked well for the 6 executives I have in my building. I would not do anything like that for the masses though.

I would send out a list of shortcut numbers to reach common destinations and let the users program their own ADL keys.

When we went 10-digit dialing in our area code, our mayor wanted me to set up the PBXs so people could still do 7-digit dialing! How would I know which area code they wanted to dial? We have almost 10 area codes in service or scheduled in the Chicago area.

When I was at the electric company, we converted from having TIE line numbers between facilities to simply doing 1 plus 10-digit dialing throughout the whole company (pursuant to a merger with an east coast electric company). Programmed our switches to recognize internal company numbers and routed those over TIEs instead of PSTN.

It's becoming a 10-digit world out there. I suggest just using 10 digits, let users program ADLs for the frequent numbers, and become used to it.

You could just use 5 digit dialing if the ranges are free on you main office eg.

Branch a
LSC 50
RLI outgoing PSTN
DMI del 0 Inst 20157

Branch b
LSC 61
RLI outgoing PSTN
DMI del 0 Inst 51558

LSC 81
RLI outgoing PSTN
DMI del 0 Inst 51587

so Number ranges are
Site A 50400-50499
Site B 61500-61599
Site B 81500-81699

And you need the 1's on the front end of the inserts

I'll get there in the end...
