Set up backup device on second physical drive

On my Sql2005 server I have a C and D drive physical drive-the server software is on C - the database files are on our SAN. I want to backup to the D drive - but when I try to create my new backup device, I do not see the D: drive as an option on the pick list of drives?

When I browse the sql server - I see the C and D: drive and my mapped network drives

It ended up being permissions on the folder. Thanks
