Hi.

What account does exchange use to send NDRs? When people receive NDRs from my domain they show the sender as:

"System Administrator" <administrator@internaldomainname>

I would like the NDRs to be from

"System Administrator" <postmaster@externaldomainname.com>

I thought it would be the Administrator account, but that account doesn't have a mailbox, so I'm not quite sure where exchange is getting this address from.

Thanks.

You set it in the Message Delivery Options. There needs to be a mail-enabled account or an organisational Contact for you to associate the alias with (the latter would be what you need for your situation). It works fine for us.

Thanks billiet, I already has a POSTMASTER user account with the address of postmaster@externaldomainname.com

Should I delete it and re-create it as a mail enabled contact instead?

No, no, I just assumed that if the Postmaster had an address with an external domain name, its mailbox was on another server (not in the Exchange org). Using the local mail-enabled account is just fine.
