Hi,

When I add a user in smit it is defaulting to /home/username.

How can it I change it so it will default to some other directory? I assume there is some config file somewhere?

Be aware that changing this will most likely be made irrelevant upon upgrading and will have to be changed again. Or, if you leave the company someone else will have to deal with the change.

If you are using a script to add users or are making them through smit you can change and should change the home directory there.

You can simply try [tt]mkdir home=/some/dir new_user[/tt], is faster.

I hope it works...
