I have a Avaya 5610 SW IP Phone that I'm troubleshooting, per this post.

As a troubleshooting step, I would like to configure the phone to use a static IP addresses for the VPN. First, it needs to get a DHCP address from my DHCP server on the LAN at Site B, then after it VPN's into Site A it needs to use a static IP address to talk on that network. How do you do that on this phone? Just as an example, in Windows I would just go to the properties of a VPN connection and set it use a static IP. The computer would still use it's DHCP address on the LAN but would talk across the VPN using the static VPN IP address. Make sense? So is there a way to do that on this phone?

Set the ip on the virtual IP settings.
Config-mode should be disabled.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks. Is this in the menus on the LCD of the phone?

It is in the VPN menu.
So when the phone boots it will start in VPN mode and when you have the option "Edit" then do so.
Go to the right until you see the virtual ip option (could also be called protected net)

Actually I would like to refer you to the OPs original thread where I quote:

Check the protected network setting on the handset. dont leave it at 0.0.0.0/0 make it specific to the host network.

No, No, please, no thanks required! :p

LOL. I went back and gave you a bunch of gold stars, so you should be good now! ;)

I actually never ended up putting a static IP on the phone for the VPN. I was just about to when I tried changing the Encapsulation option to "4500-4500" which for some reason worked. I do appreciate the answer to the question, though!
