Set ENCTYPE with javascipt

Is there anyway to set the enctype of a form with javascript? I have tried

document.formName.ENCTYPE = multipart....
and
document.formName.ENCTYPE.value = multipart......

it just keeps the default setting.

Nevermind I got it..in case anyone needs it.

document.formName.encoding = "multipart...
