Set document "properties" (Summary -> Company:) 1

Hi All,

Hoping that this makes some sense..

Installed office on a terminal server using "Company A" as the details when installing office (Pro. 2k3 [SP3]).
This should actually have been "Company B" as the server was built for a client of ours.

No when "Company B" users login and use word/excel/etc the document properties, defaults to "Company A", requiring the user to manually change this to "Company B".
{Hope that makes sense}

Is it possible to 'reset' this value across the board to "Company B"?

Doing a search through the Registry for what I have as "Company" in Office:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Microsoft Integration/Org

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/MSDN/..five deeper levels/Registration

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Updates/..four deeper levels.InstalledBy

and on and on. I found 17 instances.

So it is in there, and I believe you will have to change it there. There may be a global action that will change it, but I do not know what it would be. Would uninstalling/reinstalling Office be an option?

Thanks for the response. I guess I can search the appropriate reg keys out and look at manually changing the info there.. i'll look into this further.

Can't do a office reinstall, as this is actually occuring on three citrix servers for this particular client, and the change management process I would have to go through would be nightmarish!
