Hi All,

Can someone tell me how to set a default passwd when I create a newuser using the useradd command.

Don't think there is an option with useradd and passwd command doesn't seem to help too mucj.

Using hp-ux 11iv1

Cheers in advance

Paul

use ,.. in the second field of the /etc/passwd file makes a new user change their passwd at first login.

I'm great!!!

You are great ehspacl. Once you create the user you can also use 'passwd -f username' to force the user to change their passwd as well. Just a suggestion that might be a little quicker than vi'ing. :)

Hi Paul

Do you mean you had to set up 2800 passwords?

Kind Regards
