session varibles lost after redirect

In my environment (XP Professional with IIS 5.0, Internet Explorer 6)
all session variables are reset after a "redirect". That's not what I expect and what I see on other computers.

Is there any setting for this behaviour?

Thanks, that was a good tip.
But is it possible, that the settings about cookies are
ignored by IE? I set security to the lowest level, the page I want to call is on the same machine and IE does not take session variables from one page to another.
