So I was woring in my MItel R.7 yesterday and I was logged out for inactivity. I closed out of the ICP and opened a new browser window. Now I can log in, but when I choose System Administration Tool, I get the following error:

"Your session has time out. Please exit the application and log in again."

Thanks for the advice. Since I have only worked with the 3300 through the ESM, I'm not familiar with the SX2000. That is unless the maintenance commands are the same.

I think I'm on a wild goose chase. I can't find a way to end a session from the sx2000 command line. Does anyone know how to do this?

Display Username

this command only shows the users which are:

Installed
Main1
Main2
System

If this problem persists through a reboot of the controller then it looks like a database/memory corruption problem. Since you obviously don't have a session up after you reset the system, but it thinks you do, then some bits are badly toggled.

Best bet? Try to set the DBMS FLAG OFF from the 2K command window and hope that your most recent database backup doesn't have the same problem.

What does DMS FLAG OFF do?

Sorry, should have added...

The problem is that you can't restore a previous database if you can't get into ESM, so first you have to wipe your database to (hopefully) clear the problem, then restore an old database that (hopefully) doesn't have the problem.

As I write that I realize that this is riskier than I thought. Once you clear your database, if you still can't log into ESM then you're really in a bad state (no login and a blank system). I don't see why it wouldn't clear itself up, but you should be aware of the risk.

Just my 2 cents, you can see sessions via FTP? If you can use a terminal based ftp client EG ftp from windows etc.

Execute the QUOTE command, this will allow you send commands via the ftp shell.

For help, I think QUOTE HELP will give you a list of commands.

If you see SITE in the list then use the SITE command to take control of it, so in the shell type QUOTE SITE HELP <enter>

If it returns a list of commands you should be able to find out the command to drop users.

If it doesn't, I'm not sure what to recommend.

Hope that helps.

Jim

I programmed a reboot through the console using prog reboot command, and once the system came back up, it worked. I had reset before, but apparently there's a difference between he reset on the chassis of the ICP and a reboot. Thanks to everyone for contributing.
