Hi there,

here's something I found on the IBM site:

Problem
The "disable session admin" command prevents new admin sessions from accessing the TSM server (ANS1355E ANS8023E).

Cause
In TSM server 5.3.1, enhancements have been made to the enable/disable session commands to include the type of sessions that can be enabled/disabled:
DISAble SESSions <CLIent, ALL, SERVer, ADMin>
ENable SESSions <CLIent, ALL, SERVer, ADMin>

When "disable session admin" is issued, no new admin sessions can connect to the TSM server. Only current admin session(s) will remain active. However, the problem can arise when the admin session gets disconnected accidentally due to network time-out or some other factor. No admin sessions can be established and the TSM server process needs to be terminated and started in the foreground so adminstrative tasks can be performed.

The following messages can be seen when you attempt to connect to the TSM server:
ANS1355E Session rejected: Server disabled
ANS8023E Unable to establish session with server.

Solution
It is not recommended to use the "disable session admin" command. Should the current session(s) be lost, there is no way to access the TSM server for administrative purposes other than recycling the TSM server and starting it in the foreground. Instead, use the "lock admin <admin_id>" command to prevent other admin sessions from accessing the TSM Server.
If the "disable admin session" command must be run, ensure that there is a way to get back into the TSM server by running the TSM server in the foreground.

Regards
Thomas

Hi

If still a problem:

1. Stop TSM server process
2. Start the TSM server process as a foreground task (run dsmserv from the directory that contains your dsmserv.dsk file)
3. You are now accessing TSM using the "server_console" admin ID - you can fix whatever account/password issues you might have from here
