Hi

I need to confirm the software to be install to have a working SM stand alone on a DL360. The PDF's file about SM (Deploy, Admin, Maintenance, Upgrade) are not clear about that.

Here's that I suppose and did..

Now, only the kickstart SM (csp-6.2-install-05_15_2013) is installed. I tried to install the installer software after but it failed (asm-6.3.10.0.631008-installer.iso) I tried this one too asm-6.3.8.0.638018-installer.iso

Here’s the capture:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[craft@VOIPSMREL01 custlogin]$ cd $HOME
[craft@VOIPSMREL01 ~]$ upgradeSM asm-6.3.10.0.631008-installer.iso
Mounting iso asm-6.3.10.0.631008-installer.iso

Checking integrity of install.sh [ OK ]

Checking integrity of upgrade.sh [ OK ]
Checking integrity of WebSphere.tar [ OK ]

Mounted ISO image asm-6.3.10.0.631008-installer.iso to /iso
….
Running Session Manager upgrade script ...
Upgrade failed: no previous auto install properties file, run SMnetSetup

UPGRADE FAILED

Did I miss somethings?

And I already edit the /etc/hosts in the SMGR.

I did the SMnetSetup few times and configure my SMGR.

Thanks

Sorry i have not looked at compat matrix etc but have you actually tried to run SMnetsetup and it wont run

Can it be the NTP fail. This will be resolve today but I don't think it can be the issue!!

You need to run SMnetSetup first, then INSTALL the software - it's not an upgrade.

I always do it via DVD, so the commands may be different, but after the DVD is mounted I run this command: ./install.sh

If I was upgrading it from a previously installed version, I would run the ./upgrade.sh command.

see this line : ''grep: /opt/Avaya/install.properties: No such file or directory''

what that mean?

I reboot the server after each of my SMnetSetup..

Thanks

Not being able to ping the NTP or DNS shouldn't matter. We build them in the lab all the time. It will need to be able to see the System Manager during the install process though.

Thanks

this install is for SM duplication purpose(One SMGR and two SM)for DRC ..

The setup at the Main site, SMGR and SM-1, is fully functional. The SM-2 is on a different subnet at DRC site and pingnable from the SMGR.

i always build the kit with system manager first and then session manager active on a small lan, as scott points not an upgrade, follow that with it all connected you may need to check drs but start from scotts instructions and see how you go

Thanks Monty

the Main site is in production since week's and the SM-2 server already install at DRC site.

Do you confirm the steps:

kickstart then asm software.

Another thing, I log into cli and Im not able to use the linux commands like swversion. Probably because SM soft is not installed? But it fail. I tried with the DVD, USB and network with WinSCP..

The Kickstart it's only the Linux base? Do I,m right?

if this is a fresh install...

Load the KS.
Login as sroot.
mount SM 6.3.10 CD.
run "bash install.sh --factory"
hook Monitor up to server to agree to EULA (will ping but, ssh will be disabled)
run SMnetSetup

Thanks SLTN

I'll try this tomorrow and let you know.
