One of my clients has a SBS 2003 server that reset all it's default permissions when it rebooted. As a result, some services will not start even with the NT Authority/ System account. I get Error 5 access is denied. Also I had to reset the permissions on all the folders for the administrators and the system accounts.

Has anyone else seen this problem? How do I fix it, the client is spitting at the present.

thanks

steve

- Creat a local administrator account.
- Open services (start --> RUN --> services.msc)
- double click the problematic service
- Use this local administrator account to start the service (enter username and password)
- see if the service starts.
