Hey all, I have NT server on a HP Netserver LC3 PII, and recently it hung, I dont know why, (the Event Viewer wont tell my why either), and I had to shut it down, then it wouldn't start up again.....Id press the power button and then fans, processor etc would start, but nothing on screen, or no lights on the keyboard even after pressing Caps Lock etc...
Id keep trying but get same results. Testing the mother board, I took out all the RAM and I got the beeps telling me the RAM was out...Mother board OK..??..(Its defenitly not the video card acting up!!!)
Eventually after I left it for 5 mins it started up....and all seems to be ok...
So about 3 days later the CPU started to run at 100%, because of one service, SNMP, and SNMP.exe in the processes was 100%. Not knowing what it was I stopped it and another service started to run at 100% asrsrvc.exe, so I stopped that and then another took over..this kept happening...(and I notice now that they all should not be taking up any usage at all)....evenentually the system hung again and wouldnt start up again for about 5mins.....
Does anyone know whats wrong here...????
Everything seems to be ok now, but Im sure it will happen again...I was going to get a HP Engineer out to replace the mother board, but is that the problem....
I think it might be the processor over heating from all the 100% usages....??????
thanks for reading all that!!!!
look forward to replys!
