I'm applying either sp5 or sp6a to a netware 5.0 server running an adaptec scsi controller to which a seagate tapestor dds4 tape drive is connected. All harddrives (3) are SCSI. I'm installing backup exec 8.5 but prior to the install completing I need to install a service pack. I've had a bad experience in the past during SP installations and wanted to know if anyone has done this and if i may have problems restarting server?

Thanks

NEtware 5.0 should have 6a installed. Best thing to do is to make sure it backs up the files during the install, just in case you need to back-rev the ASPI driver or HAM driver.

I would try to stay away from using an older service pack as you may not get all the fixes that are required for the o/s.

When I attempt to install SP 6A to a new built server, I I get a "can't locate pinstall.nlm" message. The pinstall file is in the directory. Why won't this work?
