Does anyone know how to uninstall Service Pack 6a ? After I unistall it, during the boot, it is still there ! If I try to install Service Pack 3, it tells me that there is a newer version installed. What can I do ?

I am a little unclear. But I would got to the add/remove and uninstall it from there. Once you do that boot your server and then Go into i386 folder and install the service pack X.

I hope this helps...
Thanks
Ali

You'll only be able to uninstall it if you selected the option to backup the previous service pack when you installed SP6a. The problem with that is if you have installed SP6a more than once, or if you went from SP4 to SP5 to SP6 to SP6a, it will only recover back to the last service pack that you ticked the 'backup' box on when installing. If you run a recovery/repair of NT, either from a repair disk, or by selecting the option from the NT install cd, it will take the PC back to service pack 1, but you'll probably find you'll need to reinstall lots of drivers and set up things like networking again, so this is definitely a last resort.

Just a question - why would you want to uninstall SP6a and go to SP3?
Thats a Quantum leap Backwards in compatibility...
Age is right, too..you cant remove it unless you backed up your old one when you upgraded to SP6a. Whatever problems you have that make you think SP6a is causeing...going back to SP3 won't solve it.

Reply with a little more info - there may be something else going on, and we all don't want you to go through all of this work for nothing!
