Hi guys, I just upgraded my xp to service pack 3 and when I went to restart the pc it just keeps rebooting and will not load windows, I downloaded it right from microsofts website. Any ideas? Thanks
Probably, but that's a good thing. What the threads refer to is the laziness of some OEMs that loaded an image with Intel CPU drivers on machines with AMD chips. If you do that and get your system restarted, check the CPU drivers and update to AMD.

Those who work hard are rewarded with more work and remembered come time to downsize. Those who hardly work are given a paycheck and ignored completely.
Apparently MS left some key patches out of the downloadable version of SP3, this is not an issue with the full 544 Mb ISO apparently. I know this might not help you know but it might help others before they apply it.
The ISO image includes the same SP3 version PLUS some files to make the disk bootable, an image folder, a directory with some third-party programs (e.g. Citrix), a support folder, and a directory titled "DOTNETFX" which has some DLLs, data files, and executables.
