Service Pack 2 has been released for 6.1. There are a lot of fixes in this one. I downloaded it yesterday and it is 73 MB compressed. I haven't installed it yet but I think I will install it next week. I was surprised another service pack was already released. I did do SP 1 without any problems.

Thanks
Kevin

I've got it installed on a handful of media agents so far, including my commserve. No issues so far.

haven't had any issues with SP2....advisable to install it.

I did a fresh install of 6.1 and then immediately applied SP2. One of the updates failed to install on mine. It's complaining about a table parameter not existing in MSSQL. No solution from CV yet. I suspect perhaps it has to do with the fact that it was a fresh install without any backups done first? We'll see..

Probably the opposite, it is looking for a table parameter that is usually present/defined but hasn't been inserted yet because nothing was ever run. Seems like something someone could have found at Commvault.

We were having nightmarish problems with hardware errors on or MSL 6030 that had been screwing with our whole commvault system for 4 weeks... and amidst the attepts to fix this the 2nd service pack came out and suddenly the probelms went away. So I'm happy with it ;-)

I Installed it a couple of weeks ago and everything went pretty well except I had a few problems with data aging but it was fixed with a patch release a week later. I am going to install the next patch "CommVault QiNetix 6.1 Service Pack 2 Post Pack 1". It was just released and can be download now.

Thanks for all the responses.

SP2 finally makes 6.1 farily stable, at least as far as Commvault goes.

You also want to put the Post SP2 fix pack on as well as there are some critical fixes in it. This product's QA and bugs make MS look like it is bullet proof!

I heard the patch amounts were due to CDR funtionality with other areas of CV
Not a big deal really
