I have a Windows AD Domain which has an IP scheme of 192.168.20.x. We changed it to 192.168.2.x and the DNS servers have been configured to reflect this change. Now, all DHCP clients get addresses in the new scheme. IPs have been updated on all the servers as well.

Sporadically, when I ping one of the servers, it still resolves to the old IP. When I do a ipconfig/renew on the client, everything seems to be fine. Why does this happen ? The server has 4 NICs. All of them disabled but one, which has the correct IP keyed in.

Can anyone throw some light ?

This may be caused by the local DNS Cache on the server. Try to run a ipconfig /flushdns. This will empty this cache and should fix your issue. Hope this helps.
