I made a change in webmin and rebooted the server.

Now I get ".rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Remote system error - Connection timed out"

This keeps coming up and the server never boots all the way.

How can I get around this so I can change the file that webmin changed?

I have tried run level 3 and single user mode but those still stop at the same point.

Can you boot to a root shell prompt (might be under system recovery)? If so, you should be able to manually modify the (text) file(s) that were altered with webmin. Another option would be to boot to a liveCD, mount the system volume and then modify the files. In either case, you would have to correct the underlying configuration file directly as you wouldn't have a webmin GUI.

I'll try that the next time I am out there.
Luckily it is not a live server yet.
