Server stops listening on Port 1583 after applying SP4 1

When I install pervasive 2000 SP4 on my database the server stops listening on port 1583, if I uninstall it starts working again.

Anyone have any Ideas...

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled pervasive.

What OS? What Service Pack of the OS? What version or Pervasive works?

Windows 2000 Service pack 4, with pervasive 2000.

SP3 Works
SP4 Does not work

upon applying SP4 port 1583 stops listening when using the netstat -an command

Does ODBC stop working when you've got SP4 installed? What else is installed on this machine? I've heard of Windows 2000 SP4 causing certain ports to close but haven't been able to confirm that.

Yes odbc stops working with SP4 installed, Ihatespam filter, Viawarp(visa processing), Macola and Adapt are installed.

Try deleting the registry key:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Pervasive Software\Communications Requester\Version 7\Settings\LockSAT
If that doesn't work, you might try disabling the programs one at a time to see if Pervasive starts working.
