Every few days or so I have a test solris9 server that sits at the ok prompt.

Is this server on some sort of energy saving mission?

How can I change this?

Thanks.

Well sm42 if its an ultra5 box there is no lock position and no key at all. The reason it goes to ok prompt might be that u unplug the cable from the console box first while the connection is active. If u unplug it from the ultra FIRST then u have no problem. If u have a terminal concentrator and it resets for x reasons then u can't avoid the issue. Just a wild guess, try searching on sun's website for a value in ultra5's openboot to see if u can lock it from there, but chances are little...

Unplugged the serial.
Will see what happens.
Will let you know

The system goes in ok prompt due to serial port.
In order to avoid this you have to uncomment line KEYBOARD_ABORT=disable in /etc/default/kdb. To make changes effective (without reboot), issue command: kdb -i.

Ciao,
Tarek
