Hi, I am getting two servers. These are to be the only servers on the network. I was planing on having both as Domain Controllers. Then there will be file and print, SQL, dns and dhcp. What would you recommend roles wise.
One server as DC and file and print? Then the other server as DC, sql, dns and DHCP? For no more than 50 people.

It looks OK and for 50 people I would say that the DC's wont be getting hammered too much. Also split your FSMO roles over the 2 DC's just to separate the little load that is.

Best way to know how it things are performing is to Perfmon it after.

Thanks. Currently I have one server and these 2 will be replacing it. There is about 70 GB of user data to transfer. I will probably just copy it across the network overnight, or a weekend and change users drive mappings when the transfer is complete. I'd use tape backup but currenlty I am on an internal DLT and the new servers will have external SDLT drives.

With regard to transfering printers what do you advise?
