Server restore

Hi all,

I am trying to build a disaster recovery plan for my network.

We have one Nt 4 PDC, 1 BDC.....we use NTback and do a full backup on sundays and everyother day do differntial backups.

Now lets say the PDC goes down, both these server replicate well to eachother. If the pdc goes down, do i just promote the bdc to become pdc? or do i also need to restore from backup to the new PDC.

in order to keep the domain 'alive' all you need to do is promote your BDC to a PDC. However until you rebuild what was you PDC, all services and data from the server will not be available on your network.
