Can you set the user by running Server Admin under the BrightStor Arcserve Program menu?
Once into the Server Admin
On the file menu select: Admin/Select Brightstor ARCserve Backup Server (select the server you renamed)
Then: Admin/Brightstor ARCserve Backup System Account (set the user account)

Try this:

#Locate cstart.bat / cstop.bat in the BrightStor home dir;
#Run cstop
#In Explorer go to BAB$HOME\data\discovery and rename folder Server1 to anything you like;
#Edit discovery.cfg in BAB$HOME\config and change DOMAIN and PRIMARY to the new server name (SERVER2)
#Run cstart.bat

See if it works by logging in into BrightStor manager.
