server plus user CAL question

How to count the the number of User CAL? If there is only one login user, and 20 application from different server connect the database using this login user, it is 1 user CAL?

It's confusing to me, thanks for any input.

No. When using user CALs you have to count the number of users who will be using the data which is from the database. There are a couple of FAQs on licensing faq962-5153 and faq962-5480.
