Hello,
I have a frustrating problem with my Windows 2000 server. Recently I ran windows update and took about 20 updates, and restarted the server. After the restart I logged in with the administrator account. I could see the desktop for a split second, then it logs me out.
I have tried logging in to other accounts on the machine and they all do the same thing - it lets me log in and then logs out immediately.
I tried booting into safe mode, and it does the same thing.

TIA for any help

I have heard this happen when the drive letter the boot partition resides on has been changed. Are your drives using Windows mirroring per chance?

Have also seen this happen when the security permissions on the System32 directory have been altered. You can correct that remotely with admin priveleges.
