i want my server to not display the last person that logged on, and for some reason it is. all my users are not displayed but the server is, when i Terminal service in it shows up. i deleted all of my GPO policys just in case it was at deny somewhere but that didnt fix it, and yes i did set the policy to "do not show last user that logged on" to enable. any help would be greatly appreciated, also on another server i have it requires the user when the terminal service in to press ctl-atl-end, do u guys no how this is enabled, i already tried the policy but thats not working, all of the other policies are. i created my GPO at the domain level. there is just one. i have deleted all of the rest. thank u Thanks, PAUL

Set the registry key DontShowLastUserName in HKLM\software\microsoft\windows NT\current version\winlogon to 1.

yes thats on but it still won't work, also i moved the server from its original ou to a new ou under domain but it still won't work. and ive checked the site and local policy and there is nothing there and nothing is overiding it because i did no override. Thanks, PAUL

You are changing the wrong reg key

change this one
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\DontDisplayLastUserName to 1

yes i no thats the one i changed, actually it was at 1 Thanks, PAUL

The name that appears in the login in the TS client is actually being cached client side.

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default\UserName"

I haven't found a setting to disable the "feature".

Hope it helps.

thanks for the reply annearkee just about 5 minutes before u replied i discovered this by having a other user ts in and i discovered that that persons username appeared on the username. if u know how to fix this or no what is causing this please let me know. i have another server that requires ctl-atl-end to enter through terminal services i wonder how that is enabled, if anyone knows please let me know Thanks, PAUL
